Summer in Review

As it turns out, the last time I did a month-in-review post was in May.  Oops.  So I guess I owe you a review & I thought it would be easier to just do it all at once, since this Summer has been project-light.

P.S. Hope you’re having a relaxing long weekend!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow at 9am Eastern.  I’ve teamed up with Corey from TinySidekick, Katie from Upcycled Treasures, Jamie from So Much Better With Age, and Katie from My DIY Habits to bring your 5 different Fall Tables!

April in Review

I checked a few projects off the April to-do list!  The biggest one, which wasn’t on the list was moving URLs to {}!  Oh and just to warn you, there are LOTS of photos in this post.

I still need to finish up the loveseat in the guest room – the chair covers need to be dyed to match the living room cushions & I need to sew some fun covers for the scatter cushions on the loveseat.  I also still need to share the new mirror I added in there!

In April I also had an “April Goals” list for non-home related things.  Overall we succeeded on all but one of the goals – we still need to host our backyard BBQ!  Weather in the DC area hasn’t been very reliable, but hopefully May will bring warmer weekends!

We made it down to the Tidal Basin in time to see the last of the Cherry Blossoms!  We also played tourist with Andy’s parents and checked out the Mall between the Lincoln and the Washington Memorials.

I didn’t add a ton to my Spring closet, but I found a few great pieces.  Some coral and gold ballet flats that I can actually walk in (woohoo!).  Cute grey dress pants with the most beautiful finishing touches on the inside.  Two cute summery shirts from H&M and a very bold shift dress for work!

We also made good on our goal to spend more time with friends and outside.  Here are a few of the instagrams I captured on our walks /  dog park visits / outside projects.

What did you get done in April? What’s on your May to do list?

March in Review

I was pretty productive in March!

I turned a popcorn tin into a snack bucket & added a water carafe to the guest room.  Slowly but surely we’re getting ready for Guests!

I finished the pink foxes rag quilt & organized our entryway closet.

I fell in love with gorgeous grey and white houndstooth wrapping paper and waffled over paint color options for my nightstands.

I added pretty new mint social media buttons to my blog & wrote a post about an easy way to add them to your WordPress blog.

I also spent time dreaming of summer, both inside (with house plants) and out (with a pretty orange-red and teal patio).

What did you do in March?

January & February in Review

Yes, I am fully aware that it’s almost April.  What can I say, I’m a little behind the times…  As a bonus, you may have already forgotten what projects I tackled way back in January and February, so it will be like new content!

In January I redid my office nook in the living room, we re-arranged our bedroom & added some new curtains.  We also updated our Hemnes dresser with some new teal knobs and Penelope was her ever-adorable self.

In February I added re-covered bar stools to my standing desk.  I sewed new pillow covers for the living room & redid the coffee table / ottoman.  For the Pinterest Challenge I created a necklace organizer and updated my boring lampshade.  Looks like a lot of attention got focused on the living room this month!  As always Penelope did her best to be adorable.

Did you do anything in the first two months of the year?

2012: Year in Review

I was inspired by Kristin from Bliss to post a year-end review! When I started this blog it was to document our cross-country move & I never thought I’d meet so many lovely people!  It has also inspired me to (try to) create a beautiful home, even if its just a temporary apartment.

Here are the top 5 posts from this year.
